quick thought

So Last sunday our church got done with a series on Nehamiah. Really good. Quite inspirational. But did our hearts change? I'd certainly like to think so. The goal was for revival. Maybe it happened internally within a lot of people's hearts. but the joy that lies within the church (if such a thing happened durin gthat series) wasn't shared in an outward fashion. And because it wasn't shared on the outside of our hearts many people within the church begin to think they are the only one growing, or think that that hits home to me, the pastor is speaking the very words i need to here. Its amazing how our culture is today. We are very quiet worshipers. And i don't mean through song. I mean during the time of the lesson. How can a revival ever spring if nobody shares what they are going through. It only takes one person to create a domino effect. If one person leads, many others will fallow. But at times that leader needs to be amongst one of the followers. I don't know why a lot of followers view the pastor as high and mighty and his this divine knowledge that would seem that nobody else can tap into. I'll tell you a little secret. It's called the bible.

But anyways. I find it interesting that we go from a high energy and charged series about revival to a series talking about "When" - Giving Hope when Life hurts. You'd think our response would be praising. But no apparently our next step was dealing with hurt. I think a lot of this had to do with some current events that had occured with the church recently that a lot of people were effected by. Needless to say the sermon was a basic beginner christian sermon that unfortunately many believers need to have preached on a regular basis. And certainly couldn't say that i didn't need it.

Now in two posts ago (saturday) I mentioned that i wanted to be a worship leader. Today i the pastor mentioned that they decided to let the Worship leader go. Nobody was doing anything wrong they just had different visions. What those where he didn't enlighten on. But my heart certainly goes out to the situation. So now there is probably a worship leader opening. And no i'm not wanting to fill it. Can't say i'd enjoy being under someones wing to teach me. It would be tough shoes to fill.
